Let all guests that come be received like Christ.

The Rule of St. Benedict, Chapter 53

ur first and most basic act of hospitality is to provide Mass and the Divine Office every day so that anyone who wishes may come and be present to this offering of prayer and worship. As the work of stewardship finds its fulfillment in the act of bringing the gifts of creation "to the altar" to be blessed, so the lifeof grace radiates back out from the Eucharistic celebration into the world on either side of the grille.

aintaining the diverse works of the abbey - singing the Chant, practicing labor-intensive crafts, caring for the land, keeping abreast of changing technologies - all of this would never be possible without the participation of our guests and the assistance of many generous lay professionals. We acknowledge with profound gratitude the self-gift of each

person who shares in our life and who in some unique way embodies the life of Christ in our midst. Undertaken in this spirit, work is never just about getting a job done or about economic support for the community. Rather, working together on the land provides a context for learning the laws of God through creation and for giving St. Benedict's spiritual principles a practical application, for connecting the body with the soul and one person with another.

or men and women who desire to spend more time at the abbey sharing in our work and prayer, guest accomodations are available on a limited basis. The abbey has several simple farmhouse residences for this purpose. We do not give formal retreats,
but invite our guests to participate in the aura of quiet and prayer that characterizes the monastery and to meet with the Guest Mistress to reflect on the monastic experience. Guests are welcome
to join us in manual work as specified and directed by a member of the community.

s we have built relationships over time with certain schools and universities, the opportunities for collaboration have grown, making it possible to provide a limited number of educational group experiences. For committed students who have developed a relationship with the Abbey over the course of several visits and who are seeking an extended, more intensive experience of participation in our land work and crafts, it is possible to apply for a Monastic Internship.
